62 days until the due date, if my counting is correct. I don't have that many fingers, so I can't be sure. I think we'll buy the crib mattress this weekend, and then maybe, fingers crossed, actually build the crib.

Last night, I was lying in bed watching TV with the remote control sitting on my belly. I don't know, maybe it was emitting some sort of signal or something, because all of a sudden it's getting kicked off my belly. From the inside. Whoa.

It's so hot... milk was a bad choice. Or maybe being pregnant in August was. Maybe should have thought this one through a bit more before getting knocked up. I can't wear shoes other than flip-flops right now. Seriously, nothing fits me. I don't know what I'll do come September/October, when flip-flops are no longer seasonally appropriate. If anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

Very amused at yesterday's appointment: junior was kicking the doppler wand as they tried to measure his heartbeat. Now appointments are every two weeks instead of once a month, does that mean we're in the home stretch?

Watched a video on this here whole baby makin' process this evening. It made far more sense after 4 Miller High Lifes. It is indeed, the champagne of beers. I was asked earlier this evening whether the pregnancy seemed "real," to which my response was, "it will be real enough in a few months." Right now I am completely content feeling the unrealness for a few more months while I can. Plan for the future but live in the present, or something like that. I learned interesting terms tonight, like "mucous plug" and "bloody show," the latter sounding like a line from A Clockwork Orange. But anyways, the upshot is that I feel a bit better about this whole impending baby business, and that I am further convinced that beer makes everything better. Go Milwaukee!
