Saturday marked my entry into the third trimester - the land where people have babies. That's kind of scary. Also on Saturday, we went to IKEA and bought a crib, so now, if we get a mattress, the kid will have a place to sleep. We're such great parents already! On the one hand, I can't wait until he's out and we can meet him, but on the other, I want to keep in him in there as long as possible so we have a little more time to get things done, like watch movies and go out to dinner. Oh, and get ready for him to be here. Mike still needs to learn how to change diapers, we can't have a baby before then.

I just had a wonderful thought - having a kid means I will get to stock up on and play with Legos again. Awesome.

I was having a crummy day yesterday, feeling completely convinced that everyone thinks we will be bad parents and abuse our child. Then, when I got home, there was a lovely surprise from Tricia in the mail - a manual that ensures that we will never be bad parents! Something along these lines.
Mike and I were thinking of performing an in-utero experiment on the parasite. I will play a song for him every day until he is born, and sing along with the song to be sure he knows it. Then, when he is born, we will see if the song has a soothing effect on him. After much discussion, the song we've selected is Kenny Rogers' The Gambler. So, is this considered child abuse?

Who says girl clothes are cuter than boy clothes? If I said that, I've changed my mind. Check out this sweet little number I got today. Even though it will most likely fit him in the wrong season. I've decided the heck with that, he's wearing it for Christmas.

Back from Texas, and we've got the beginnings of a fine wardrobe. Plenty of clothes with a baseball theme, thanks to Grandpa. We'll see what football and basketball items Dad can counter with. The poor kid isn't going to know which sport to get into, but I'm sure he'll know his teams before he's even born - hopefully, not during a Horns or Bears game!
