Baby Arrival!

Dexter was born yesterday at 1:11 pm! 8lb, 14 oz and 22 inches long, which is apparently lengthy for a newborn. This of course means he will be at least 6'3" and a great NBA point guard.
Lanky newborn, mother (and diminutive father, for that matter) are healthy and doing well. Dexter and Jenny will be discharged tomorrow. I can' wait for Dexter to check out his home and meet a large cat.

Happy Due Date to Me! Does that mean the baby has reached his "sell-by" date and he'll come today?

I'm now smack dab officially in-between the two due dates: October 25th was the original due date, moved to October 30th after a dating ultrasound. Come on, baby, time to come out. Thankfully (and this is no reflection on my job, which is awesome) tomorrow is my last day at work. I can't wait to start leave and be able to nap and wear sweatpants all day. Of course, because leave starts Thursday, doesn't Murphy's Law dictate that I will go into labor Wednesday night?

After today's appointment, I am now totally convinced I will go past my due date. Still nothing going on. Boo. Mike may be spot-on with his prediction of a Halloween baby.

Still here. Nothing going on. Blah.

We're finally full term! Actually, full term plus a couple days at this point. Feel free to make your entrance anytime now, kid.

I have expressed this elsewhere, but I was kind of hoping the Cubs would win the World Series this year so I could tell my kid that he was born the year they broke the curse. No such luck. And I'm not waiting 'till next year for him. :)
